A must for vacuum fans. (where the @#%$ is the vacuum these days anyway) Opening standard (Trey's a bit rough though). Trey "sings" part of the Pez Song (written by Dave Abrahams) in the enchanting pre-Nirvana segment. "When you turn my neck back, don't you even try to get inside my head and see the sky there. It is good enough for the two of us." Trey then soon whispers "please give the Pez back to the guy who gave you the Pez. Don't keep the Pez." He then sings the aforementioned lyrics again. And then sings: "When you break my neck." (pause) "When you break my neck." "Break my neck." (pause) "Neck." (pause) "NNnn." Definitely one of the more interesting pre-Nirvana sections that exist! Nirvana at 5:07, and It Is Good. Mike's solo section at 5:52 is morose, awry, odd, bizarre, DOOOOOMED. Dark, fearsome pre-charge section, with excellent soloing from Trey around The Notes. Ends a bit rough, though. Charge around 8:20, then At 8:36, Trey does NOT yell "Boy" after the excellent scream. Instead, during the scream, Trey screams SOMETHING (three syllables) but I can't make out what. Good MGS/WUDMTF segment. Some Speedracer (and later Landlady) teasing from Page. Tramps jam at 10:45.. Mike is signaling for the trampolines moves. Excellent keyboards.. nice work from Page!! Trey and Mike groove along with Page for awhile, too (who said the funk started in 1997!?!). At 13:11 the jam segment begins with Trey repeating a somewhat mellifluous, catchy lick. Great accompaniment from Fish, too! Trey plays really well throughout the opening of the jam segment. Mike and Page leap back in to really Kick Out this jam just after 15 mins. Extremely phaaaaaty bass from Mike! Power chords from Page! Trey sustains a note for an unusually long period of time for YEM, beginning just before 16 minutes (he holds it for nearly 20 seconds). And then just RIPS into a sweeeeet solo above the truly AWESOME jam pounded out by Mike, Fish and Page!!! At 18:14 Bass and Drums punch in. Good stuff, but nothing like what we usually see these days. Mike tools around.. doesn't show off, though. A thoughtful, tasteful solo, though, which gets melodious for the final 30 or so seconds. Closing WUDMTF lyrics/vocals at 19:38. Sounds like they are saying something in the first minute. "Won't you take the shuttle" maybe. (?) Very melodious vocal jam.. catchy.. a bit more jazzy than usual. CACTUS. CACTUS. CACTUS.. long vocal jam! Total time 26:42. The 3/31/93 show is a reallly good show and I do recommend it, but the YEM at that show is pretty blah compared to this version. Easy B+ for this exceptionally awesome YEM. Longest YEM I've heard from before 5/5/93, fwiw. two cents
