4/18/94 Bob Carpenter Center, Newark, Delaware (Rvwd 10/95) The Bathtub Gin at this show is EXCELLENT. The
DWD is also surprisingly strong, even though its jamming doesn't explore new territory like those of the last year. The opening
of this MikeS is wholly uneventful. As you may know, Trey was on one leg for this tour. He needed a volunteer to do the
tramps. The tramps jam segment starts a little late in order to get the volunteer up on stage. Trey does the typical off-key sustain
crap a little bit, but primarily focuses on really grooving in a Very Dark Manner. Since he wasn't bouncin up and down, it was
more easy for him to wail, and, to a certain extent, he does jam more profoundly than usual in this segment. When it ends
(surprisingly early, given that it started late) around 4:50, the jam twirls into a dizzying cacaphony (Fish is stellar..), that appears
to be focused on dissonance, directionlessness, chaos. In essence, focused on blurriness or focuslessness. At 6:30 or so,
though, they return in unison and the jam solidly launches into the final MikeS theme. Well, sortof. The theme doesn't really
come back until after the 7 min mark. They at least started it at 6:30 roughly. Mike's Song (aka MikeS) ends early for 1993-5
at 7:52 or so, when TMWSIY segues in (after Fish starts playing H2! DOH! Some habits are either hard to break, or Trey
thought the MikeS was sooo shitty that he didn't want any more of this 'Groove). No Weekapaug, No Hydrogen, and this
MikeS wasn't even close to Awesome (I tried to make it sounds better than it was.. :) C rating.
